Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg, during his opening keynote at the 2018 F8 developer conference announced a new privacy tool named Clear History.
This new feature will allow the users of the social networking website to clear their cookies and history. This way, you’ll be able to clear your browsing history on Facebook: what websites you’ve clicked on and what apps you’ve interacted with.
With Facebook Clear History feature, Zuckerberg is looking to give people a better control over their data. As per the company’s official blog post, now you’ll also be able to see which apps and websites are sending data to Facebook. This might include data like information related to Like button, Facebook Analytics, etc.

In case you wish to use this option to clear history, the company will remove identifying information that could be associated with your account. However, it’ll continue to provide aggregated analytics to the developers.
The Clear History feature is currently in development and will roll out in the coming months.
“We’ll work with privacy advocates, academics, policymakers and regulators to get their input on our approach, including how we plan to remove identifying information and the rare cases where we need information for security purposes,” it added.
