West Blue Consulting’s e-Ananse Libraries has been awarded as the top Innovative CSR Project of the Year at the Sustainability and Social Investment Awards 2019.
As a corporate social responsibility of West Blue Consulting, e-Ananse is a new concept in public libraries in Ghana that focuses on African heritage and identity, both in its design and its contents. The library is basically stocked with books from writers of African descent.
This initiative is a way of keeping the African culture and heritage through folklore storytelling tradition.
Currently, there are two libraries, one in Osu and the other in Legon. Each library also has an iHub. The iHubs are state-of-the-art computer facilities that serve the newest technology and super-fast WiFi.
Cephas Larbi, who is the Director e-Ananse Libraries, received the award. He remarked that “the award will spur us on to work harder. e-Ananse is here to help contribute to the development of a literate society.”
Larbi as well promised “more exciting literary events in December and next year”.
