DVLA (Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority) is going to commence the use of an electronic platform early next year. It is going to use this platform for vehicle registration. And, this e-registration is going to start from January 2, 2019.
According to DVLA, this is to ensure that the time spent at their office premises is reduced. Thus, it will drastically prevent overcrowding.
The Authority says people who wish to register vehicles in 2019 should present them to the Private Vehicle Test Station for inspection. This exercise begins from December 3, 2018, to December 31, 2018. Owners will present same vehicles to DVLA for customs clearance, technical inspection and identity check. Also, owners will also undergo bio-metric capture at the DVLA office.
At DVLA, officers will select the appropriate vehicle category for the vehicles. As well, they’ll generate an invoice for payment. Then, you’ll make payment for the invoice at the DVLA office from January 2, 2019.
