Keys of Huawei P30 and P30 Pro

The cameras

As said earlier, P30 and P30 Pro are photography oriented. They actually come from a smartphone series known for its cameras: the Huawei P-series.

The standard P30 model comes with three rear cameras. The triple-camera system has 40MP, 16MP, and 8MP lenses. The 40MP is a wide angle lens; the 16MP lens is for ultra-wide angle snapping. And the last one, the 8MP lens, is for telephoto.

The selfie camera is 32MP.

P30 Pro

The P30 Pro possesses four rear cameras.  A 40MP wide angle lens, a 20MP ultra wide angle lens and an 8MP lens that performs a 5x telephoto function. The fourth one is a ToF (time-of-flight) depth-sensing camera, which measures the distance of an object from the lens. Its selfie camera is also 32MP.

Processor, RAM and storage capacities

The two phone models will have one thing in common here —the processor. They will all come running on Huawei’s own Kirin 980 chipset.

On the side of internal storage, the P30 Pro starts from 128GB and runs on a RAM of 8GB. The P30 Pro has two other variants. The other two variants have 8GB RAM with 256GB storage, and 8GB RAM with 512GB internal space, respectively.

The standard Huawei P30 smartphone comes with a RAM of 6GB and a regular storage capacity of 128GB.

On the screen side, both models come with a “waterdrop” notch. The waterdrop notch houses the 32MP selfie camera. Both phones also have their fingerprint scanners under the display (on-screen fingerprint).

The screen size of the P30 Pro is 6.47 inches, with a curved OLED display

The standard P30 comes with 6.1-inch, also having an OLED display.

Battery and charging

The P30 will be powered by a smaller (in comparison with the Pro model) 3,650 mAh battery. It supports 22.5W fast charging.

The premium model has a battery strength of 4,200 mAh, and it will support 40W fast charging.

The Huawei P30 smartphone will come in five variants. They both are water and dust resistant: the P30 Pro is IP68-certified, and the P30 IP53-certified.

In all, the Huawei P30 series seems to be taking on other photography-oriented smartphones. Let’s see how it performs when it finally releases.
