Ride-hailing company in Ghana, Bolt has just launched its all-new affordable option, Bolt Lite in Accra. The new ride type is a 15% cheaper ride option, which allows customers to pay less for their regular trips. Though now launched in Accra, Bolt Lite has already been operational in Kumasi.
Bolt drivers enjoy full flexibility with the new ride type, as it is optional for ride-hailers. Thus, switching between Bolt regular and Bolt Lite is just one click away — and very simple for Bolt drivers. Customers should note that though Bolt Lite will be available at all times, it will not be available from Friday to Sunday between the hours of 8 pm to 12 midnight.

Bolt’s Country Manager for Ghana, Nonso Onwuzulike speaking about the new ride type indicated that it was purposely meant to alleviate the financial burden of transportation on its customers. He said:
”We appreciate the huge financial burden on our customers concerning transportation, especially in these difficult times. Thus we have decided to offer them some relief with Bolt Lite.”
Speaking about Bolt drivers, Nonso Onwuzulike noted that Bolt Lite apart from its full flexibility provides a perfect way for them to earn more with Bolt because, it will increase ride patronage, thereby giving them more revenue. He said:
“Our drivers, who are at the core of our operations, have an alternative opportunity to earn on our platform. Our analysis indicated that the lower-priced category would increase the number of rides and decreases the time drivers spend waiting for the next order. Therefore, after consulting with our drivers, we have decided to launch a fully optional Bolt Lite category that would help increase their activity and earnings.”
