Once upon a time, Nokia was the biggest manufacturer of smartphones. Then it decided to overlook Android in favor of Windows-powered smartphones. That’s when it lost its appeal. Thankfully, HMD Global gained the rights to make and market smartphones under the Nokia name in 2016 and since 2017, has been releasing interesting devices.
Here, I bring you the best Nokia phones we’ll recommend, based on three categories: high end, mid-range and budget pricing points.
Best high-end Nokia phone: Nokia 8 Sirocco
The forerunner in this best Nokia phones list, the Nokia 8 Sirocco, is an upgraded version of the Nokia 8. Featuring a dual-camera (12MP and 13MP) setup on the back fitted out with Carl Zeiss optics and 2x optical zoom, the device is equipped with a larger 5.5-inch curved display (up from 5.3 inches), and thanks to its thin bezels, has a more modern design which features an improved water protection (IP67 vs IP54), alongside other nice things.
The device comes with 6GB of RAM to go with 128GB of on-board storage, and up to 256GB of microSD expansion, and powered by a non-removable 3200mAh battery.

A part of Google’s Android One initiative, you’re assured the device doesn’t come with bloatware, while guaranteeing timely OS updates.
The smartphone which isn’t available yet, will go on sale in Europe and India, later this month for 750 euros or Rs. 50,000.
Best mid-range phone: Nokia 7 Plus
The Nokia 7 Plus is famous as the smartphone which sold out in five minutes when it went on sale this March, in China, makes its way into the list as one of the best Nokia phones in the mid-range category.
Also an Android One smartphone, this is an upgrade of the Nokia 7. The display is 6 inches with an 18:9 aspect ratio. This also features a dual-camera (12MP and 13MP) setup with a 16MP front camera, a newer chipset, and a large 3800mAh battery.
Like a few of its colleague Nokia smartphones, the 7 Plus features the “Bothie” mode that lets you use front and back cameras simultaneously for split-screen photos and videos.

Best budget phone: Nokia 2
Rounding up our best Nokia phones list is the Nokia 2. Costing just $100, this smartphone is for people on a tight budget. It features a massive 4100mAh battery, making it the phone’s biggest highlight.
Although the Nokia 2 doesn’t come with any mind-blowing specs, it’s still good enough for browsing the web and using social media. Sporting a 5-inch HD display and IP52 drip protection, the device has 8GB of storage and 1GB of RAM, and it’s powered by the Snapdragon 212 chipset. The Nokia 2 has an aluminum frame and a polycarbonate back, and runs stock Android like the rest of the company’s lineup. It ships with Nougat on but can be upgraded to Oreo soon.
