As trusted Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo claims, the tech giant will be releasing an “all-new” 16-inch MacBook this year. Apple will as well release a 32-inch 6K display.
Kuo is one of the most credible leakers when it comes to Apple products and their plans. He revealed this in his research note obtained by MacRumors.
Leading the lineup of the new MacBooks is a model with a screen of between 16 and 16.5 inches. That would make it the biggest screen in the MacBook family since Apple stopped selling the 17-inch models in 2012.
According to Kuo, the 2019 MacBook lineup may also include a 13-inch model with support for 32GB of RAM. At the moment, there is only one model that can be configured with that amount of memory — the 15-inch MacBook Pro.
Kuo’s report says the new Mac Pro coming this year will come along with “easy to upgrade components”.
On the external monitor, Kuo reports that it will be a 31.6-inch 6K display with a “Mini LED-like backlight design.” This is probably going to mark Apple’s comeback to the pro display market and the need for getting triple monitor stands.
Some remarks about Kuo’s reports suggest that an “all-new” design for Apple’s MacBook is a little surprising. This is because Apple introduced the Touch Bar models in 2016, which was more than four years after the Retina display models were released. So it seems they are introducing a new design too soon.
But the Touch Bar model though has not met many good praises. It has not been generally popular as it met widespread criticism. A lot of people complained about the Touch Bar model’s keyboard. The complaints were that the keyboard was not really reliable and the feel was off.
Apple then had to do a little tweaking on the keyboard on “each subsequent spec bump” , but it the problem may require a more comprehensive solution.
Ming-Chi Kuo’s analysis has more information on the plans of Apple this year and also the iPhones and iPads the company will release. He also has information on Apple accessories like the new AirPods and its long-awaited AirPower wireless charging mat.
