Android owners have been warned about a new attack on their cell phones through an app. The application has millions of downloads and it has been buying premium content on several phones without the owner’s permission.
It comes with harmful hardware which lets hackers generate cash without the user suspecting. Recently, the team at Secure-D did their findings and found out that the app is named Ai.type. They had this to say too, “Ai.type’s popularity and useful features have been used to disguise systematic and worrying activity.
“This happens in the background without the user being aware and includes fake ad views and attempted digital purchases.”
“Android users should immediately check their phones to see if they have any suspicious app installed. If so, they should uninstall it immediately and review any new mobile airtime charges for possible fraud.”
